| 2009 Cayman Islands Triathlon |
The Cayman Islands Triathlon, sponsored by Scott’s Equipment has been around for many years. Many will remember it as the Pirates Week Triathlon, Turtle Tri or the Bank of Butterfield (Butterfield Bank) Triathlon."Come for the race, stay for the vacation. Family and friends can watch the race while enjoying one of the best beaches in the world. Transition is located at Public Beach and the swim start is off beautiful Seven Mile Beach. Great location, race support, prizes, food and fun for all! Post race BBQ included in the entry fee. Its a perfect blend of vacation and racing. There are awards for 5 year age groups (Olympic), 10 year (Sprint) and Relay Teams. If you can't find a team or you don't like to swim or cycle we have a 10 kmrRun. The race hotel is Comfort Suites with great rates for athletes and their families.
Team participation is encouraged, especially for those who perhaps aren’t as confident in completing the entire course on their own (this year anyway) Being part of a team provides the opportunity to complete the distance with others who share a common goal and can be heaps of fun.
The Olympic or ‘International’ distance consists of a 1500-metre swim, 40 km bike, and a 10 km run. This distance is by far the most popular! The Sprint distance event involves a 750 metre swim, 20 km bike, and a 5 km run. For further information on the Cayman Islands Triathlon, please contact the Race Director at
